Solar Walk 2 – Solar System 3D App Reviews

When app worked it was 4 stars. Now its frozen.

I love this app, its graphics are amazing, and it has so much information in it to help me learn more about space and everything in it. Its so worth the money!

This app is stuck in permanent update mode and is therefore useless. I tried to delete the app and reload from the App Store, but it didnt work. I prefer to resolve things like this behind the scenes with app support so I wont bring down an apps ratings, but that choice isnt included in the app. So, I clicked on the link to the company website at the bottom of this page. The companys website had a list of other apps it has made and all the awards they have won, but again, I couldnt find an app support choice. I cant find anyone in this company who will help. The only name mentioned on the company website was the US CEO. I emailed him several days ago and havent even had my message acknowledged. After I finish writing this review, I will give up and delete this app from my phone.

I thought by purchasing app that I would get the other features. Lame that I have to pay to unlock other features. Such a waste of money!

Well Im not exactly sure why I have to pay for the 3 dollar app and then pay more of that to see the things such as satellites, I believe one or the other should be free.

The premium content seems to be the same as the premium content in Star Walk 2. I guess I can only find out by trying it... Seems like these two apps should be merged into one.

How do I de-select an object? How do I zoom out without the program zooming me back in with no escape? Why isnt the sound playing? It said there was an option to turn off the exaggerated view; cannot find a labeled setting anywhere. How do I set the zoom to precisely what I want to see without the app snapping to some predefined zoom level?

Although the overall imaging is a big improvement, I note the following disadvantages: 1. The new version is more difficult to navigate through the options and information. 2. When you try to rotate your view of an object at a distance, it invariably and frustratingly auto-zooms to the closest view. 3. The missions lack the animation of the original Solar Walk. 4. I was hoping Solar Walk 2 would go beyond Solar Walk and show our local galaxy cluster or even expand out to the visible universe; instead, it does not even show the view of our Milky Way galaxy as the original did.

I would like it to be more realistic. The planets are very beautiful tho and realistic. They look like moving colored sand. So very pretty and impressive. The lighting isnt realistic tho. Overall its very cool with the Info options and diagrams. I just dont like how the lighting was done. I would like less model look and more real look. Its could be really beautiful if the lighting were tweaked.

Great app so far! I have played with it for about a week now and so far I am enjoying it. I also have the first Solar Walk app and well when comparing this to the first one Id have to say graphics greatly improved, things are more descriptive and overall its very fluid. It works great on the iPad mini original (keep in mind the original iPad mini has same specs as iPad 2). It does stutter sometimes due to the older processor and 512MB of ram but its nothing that would ruin the great experience for me(: I have also tried this app on my iPad mini 4 and iPhone 6+ and so far I have not noticed any lag. Overall if you are looking for a fun app to kill time or to learn more about our solar system Id have to say this is a great buy for $5.00.

This has always been my "go to" software for exploring our solar system with my students. The current update is awe inspiring. Thank you Vito Tech., for bringing our solar system and the universe into my classroom. A must have for every middle school teacher. A.G. M.S. Ed

Great app for the most part! Please show the twin stars in a binary system. That would be amazing guys!!! Exoplanets would be amazing. Id pay for it readily!
